happy half birthday, P!

Happy half birthday to Penelope!

It has been so long since i've blogged which makes me sad because I actually really love it so much!
So cheers to a new year and new goals and more blogging which is one of my resolutions this year.

and now that i got that out of the way...

I cannot believe 6 months have gone by with this dream girl right here. With my consistent posts over on my Instagram it is no secret that we are obsessed with her. She makes us happy, she makes our home a sweeter place and we have so much fun watching her grow.

She is still the happiest baby ever who rarely ever cries. She lights up whenever her brother is around or when her dad walks through the door after missing him all day while he's been at work. She is such a mama's girl who loves to stay close by me. Even when she sleeps she will peak open her eyes to make sure i'm still around. She loves to be on the floor getting her wiggles out, rolling around, scooting, crawling and playing with toys. As of today she has been sitting a teeny tiny bit!
She loves sitting on her dads lap while i paint her teensy little toes and she loves twirling my hair through her little hands. Such a girly girl.
Lately she's been grabbing our faces and giving us the biggest kisses and its the sweetest thing ever!
I feel like she is so determined and independent because she watches and loves her brother so much. It's like she's trying to keep up with him and wants to be just like him. Whenever i sit next to the bathtub while noah's taking a bath she fights my arms to get in there with him, so she takes a bath with him now and she squeals and splashes and gets so mad when i take her out.
Her new trick is to growl at us and wait until we growl back and she cracks up every time.
She's always been an amazing nurser and even though sometimes its hard that she won't take a bottle or binky (especially while we're on date night) I cherish that special time I have with her.
She lost a lot of her hair about two months ago and she has so much fuzzy new hair coming in! We love her chubby little cheeks and those beautiful almond eyes so much. We call her Penelope, P or Penny. The other day I heard Noah softly singing to her in the backseat, "find a penny pick her up, then all day you'll have good luck." He is the best brother to her and I'm so proud of him.

We love you, P!

Penelope Elizabeth

Hearing that little cry after taking her very first breath of life
holding her warm little body in my arms
smelling that yummy newborn scent
kissing those soft cheeks
seeing the little girl I had been carrying and dreaming about for 9 months..
These moments mean the world to me.

I love you so much Penelope!

my little family.

Okay, get ready for a picture overload.
I have been waiting SO LONG to get my family portraits done. I fell in love with this photographers work over a year ago. I tried to be so patient until Noah was just a little older so that he wouldn't be too camera shy. I am in LOVE with every single one of the photos I got back from Tyson. It was so hard for me to narrow down my absolute favorites on here which is why there are many.. I will definitely cherish these photos for the rest of my life. I love these two boys of mine so much!

Canyon Trip part. 2

So I guess I didn't mean to build up suspense that I had something exciting to announcement in this post...
Nope. no big news over here!

I know I have talked about this before, but I guess I'll say again how much I love this place.
When Chandler and I met somehow it came up that I had never been on the Alpine Loop. This took Chan by surprise considering the fact that I have lived in Utah most of my life.
Well, on our very first date guess where he takes me?
We drove the Alpine Loop (and he took me to dinner too, of course!) and talked about so much. I felt comfortable, like I could just talk his ear off. I felt as though we had known each other a long time when really we barely knew each other at all. After that day we were pretty much inseparable. We always made food together, like quesadillas and brownies or cookies and had so many movie marathons at his house. His house was perfectly decorated in Fall decor and always smelled like pumpkin spice. These are reasons I love Fall so much. It brings back the memories of meeting my favorite guy.

Our family loves Tibble Fork. We like to think that its our place ;)
and we love taking family drives around the Alpine Loop. It's nice to get some fresh air and take a break away from all the business of life.
I stood there and watched my husband teach our little guy how to skip rocks into the Lake. Noah thought it was the coolest thing ever and he tried very very hard to skip those rocks perfectly across the water with so much confidence.
It is so awesome to think that in just five short years we have gotten to this place in our lives.
I am grateful.

It was a good day
